About Us

The Young People’s and Children’s Division (YPD) is a vibrant division of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME Church), comprising children and young people between the ages of 2 and 26. Operating under the guidance of the Women’s Missionary Society (WMS), we are committed to nurturing young hearts and minds in Christ.

The Growing Revived Energetic Anointed Transformed East Conference YPD (GREAT YPD) is our regional branch responsible for areas within Gauteng, including the East Rand, parts of Soweto, the Vaal, and the entire province of Mpumalanga. The East Conference is divided into 11 Areas, organized geographically for effective meeting coordination and program management.

We are a group of innovative, inspired, and dynamic young people, driven by Christ and passionate about sharing His liberating gospel with the world. Guided by Holy Scripture, the Doctrine and Discipline of the AME Church, and our Constitution and Bylaws, we strive to become impactful members of society.

Our belief is simple: we are blessed to be a blessing. Every action we take, no matter how small, aims to bring joy and hope to others. Immersed in the blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we aspire to be the salt and light of the world.

Through our programs and events, we provide leadership and training experiences that empower young people to grow in peace, joy, confidence, excellence, and greatness. Our goal is to shape lives that reflect the transformative power of Christ.
